Blend door actuator for sure for the no-heat-in-the-cabin deal, but the engine overheating seems far out for that. maybe a clogged heater core (might impede flow) Im dealing with no heat in cabin right now, except on the highest setting. Jeep made a change to the fan settings and the gauge read out at some point from what I understand.

Started to overheat after a trip to an ORV park but I washed the radiator out and its pretty clean on the outside. It seems that there are more complaints from owners with 12 plus 3.6 JK's running hot, but in most instances it's normal. The variable speed fan is a better set up than prior year JK's. If the air was lukewarm at all the vents, then it's entirely possible that the heater core away the problem. If, as you said, it was only the drivers side, then replacing the core didn't do a thing and the issue will likely return.
